Today Im sharing my Beet Burger the Easy Recipe, yes that right the easy recipe, easy and fun; beets burger are quite in range those days and from the social media feed to the restaurants, the whole world is inviting you to take a bite from this tasty beetroot burger.
While always interested to try new plant-based dishes, I avoided for a long while to make these gorgeous red burger patties even If I was literally drooling all over them every time I scrolled my Instagram feed. They look so delicious but to be honest I was afraid of the mess in the kitchen. I really cant stand a messy kitchen and from my own experience beets require quite some cleaning after.
There was when I realized I need to make all in the food processor, which made the whole process a bit tricky because you need to pulse it to perfection, or the mixture gets a bit too soft and not easy to make patties with it. But after two trials I actually succeeded, and this is how to make a beet burger:
INGREDIENTS FOR TODAYS BEET BURGER THE EASY RECIPE:
2 cups red lentils (canned) rinsed and drained
1 cup mashed sweet potato
2 small beets, peeled and shredded
1 small onion, very finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp. cumin powder
1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
½ tsp. fresh black pepper
1 cup breadcrumbs
Oil for the cooking the patties
PREPARATION METHOD FOR BEET BURGER THE EASY RECIPE
In a food processor add the lentils, mashed sweet potato, grated bets onion, and garlic. Pulse till until well combined. Now add the spices and the breadcrumbs mixing gently with a spatula. Add as many breadcrumbs are needed, you dont need to add all
If by mistake you pulse it too much, and your mixture is too soft for forming a burger patties, leave it to rest in the fridge for 30-40 minutes before going further.
Use big round cookie cutters to form the burger patties and line them on a baking paper sheet. Freeze them for about one hour.
When they are ready, fry them over a low-medium fire, in a pan with oil 3-4 minutes on each side.
Serve immediately, on a burger bun with your favorite toppings or just the patties next to delicious fries and salad.
I enjoyed mine with lettuce leave big avocado slices and thyme dressing with a touch of hot chili sauce.
