If you thought we’d already reached peak avocado, think again. The landscape of #avoontoast is in store for a major shake-up as Tesco launches the UK’s first avocado spread.
Tesco’s new butter alternative costs £1.20 for a 250g pot and is made with a blend of vegetable oils and avocado oil.
The supermarket giant claims it is a healthy reduced fat option with a good source of Vitamin A, D and Omega 3 fatty acids and is suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
It follows a spate of other novelty avocado-based products including Marks & Spencer’s pre-sliced avocado for lazy lovers of the creamy green stuff, and also its range of mini ‘babycados’.
It also comes after the launch of a £55 five-course avocado-themed brunch in Farringdon last month, which included avocado macarons and even avo margaritas on the menu.
One thing’s for sure, this new spread is the most ergonomic way to get your avocado fetish onto your Instagram feed.
