A company is recalling organic foods, some with H-E-B branding, which may have been contaminated by listeria monocyfogenes and were distributed at stores in Texas.
Twin City Foods, Inc. of Stanwood, Washington, is voluntarily recalling items containing organic peas it received from CRF Frozen Foods, according to an H-E-B recall.
The products include Central Market Organic Peas and Mixed Vegetables, HEB Organic Mixed Vegetables, Sweetfrost Mixed Vegetables, and Woodstock Organic Mixed Vegetables.
The listeria monocyfogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, as well as other with weekend immune systems, officials said.
Twin City Foods officials said no illnesses to date have been reported to them.
The products were shipped to distribution centers in California, Texas and Washington.
Officials urge anyone who purchased the product not to consume it, and to instead return it to the store they purchased it from for a full refund.
